Well it has been awhile since the last newsletter. I thought I should send out a quick one as we are right in the midst of all the provincial qualifying for most of the events.
Of course the largest event right now is that of the Youth Bowling Canada. The 4 Steps to Stardom are in full swing with the House Qualifying being completed and we now move into the Zone Rounds. These will all be completed with in the next 2 weeks and then it’s off to the Provincials. The new format of 4 player teams should prove to be very interesting and will have a big impact when it comes to Zone, Provincial and National Finals as the bowling will go a lot quicker. The addition of the 3 Player Combo Event in 5 Pin will also be an exciting addition to all levels as it is a pins over average event and will see bowlers heading to Zone Provincial and National Finals that may have never had a chance to advance to these events. Good Luck to all.
While we are on the topic of YBC don’t forget to check out the National Youth Bowling page and register. It is available to all YBC Bowlers. There you can check out up coming events, results and bowlers scores from across the country. For those who missed out on the National results of the 2008 National HI LO results check them out on this site. The 5 and 10 pin results are posted there, and if you have trouble retrieving them, I now have them posted on the Bowl Manitoba website as well.
While we are on the topic of qualifying the Club55+ qualifying should be all underway and moving into the next stage, as should the National Classified Championships.
In 10 Pin the Provincials YBC finals are the last week of Feb and I will have the results posted as soon as I receive them. The 10 Pin World Cup Provincials were held this past weekend and there again I will post all the results as soon as they are received.
On the proprietor end of things just a reminder to all our Manitoba Proprietors to send me all the results of their tournaments so I can get them posted. Youth and adult results from any of your events that you have hosted whether they are local, zone or provincial results or up coming events are welcome, so please forward them on, as your bowlers would love to see them..
That’s it for now….don’t forget to check the calendar of events page to stay in touch with what is going on and to all those who have qualified in their respective events, “Best of Luck” in the next Round.
